About Me

 

Hi, I am Jessica James. I am a mom and wife. I have two littles who are 4 (Ryan) and 18m (Lily). They keep me very busy when I am not teaching and I absolutely love every minute I get to spend with them. This is my 6th year as a classroom teacher. I taught 5 years at a charter school in Gilroy, CA in both 4th and 1st grade. Last year I moved back to Corona to be closer to my family and am enjoying being back in the area. Some of my favorite things to do is go to baseball games, Disneyland, and shopping at Target. When I was in 5th grade I decided to start playing the flute and played in marching band and concert band until I graduated high school. My husband and I are currently very busy making renovations to our new house. I am so excited to be at a new school this year and meet so many new families and students.

Academic Update 12/16/2020

 

It is hard to believe we are already almost halfway through the school year. I hope we have a very strong second half of the year. The next couple months are going to be very busy. We have a lot of fun things that the students will be learning and exciting projects coming up. In math we are going to be diving into long division as well as getting into fractions. In science we are currently in our plants and animals unit. Students are going to be immersed in animal dissection. This will include a squid, sheep's brain, and a cow eye. In social studies we will be talking about the Missions and making brochures. By the end of February we will be starting the Gold Rush. In writing students will be writing personal and imaginative narratives. In literature we will be focusing on nonfiction texts and text structures. Everyone is working so hard and I can't wait to see everything we accomplish.

Christmas Party - 12/16

 

We had a super fun Christmas Party. They had a blast making Gingerbread Houses and watching The One and Only Ivan.
